The Longleat railway is the 2nd most intensely operated 15inch Gauge Passenger Railway in Europe, and we’ve got an exciting opportunity for a customer service focused Railway Team Member to join us on a fixed term contract until January 2020.

What will this role of Railway Team Member (Customer Service) entail?

As a Railway Team Member, you’ll enjoy a varied customer service focused role which will see you taking on everything from driving our diesel locomotive to undertaking signalman and guard duties.

You’ll keep the safety of the train and its passengers at the forefront of your attention at all times, and ensure we are constantly delivering a fantastic customer service to our guests. You’ll perform all daily pre-opening safety inspections on the railway and highlight to the supervisor or team leader any equipment that needs repair, replacing or adjusting.

What will I need to be considered for this Railway Team Member (Customer Service) vacancy?
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be able to react quickly and appropriately under pressure in emergency situations and maintain professionalism
  • Effective communication skills
  • Passionate about delivering an excellent customer service

Although not essential, experience of working with diesel and/or steam locomotive engines would be highly advantageous.

Due to the nature of the role, if successful you will be required to complete and successfully pass a medical.

Contract: Fixed term, zero hours contract until 5th January 2020. Earliest rota’d start time from 9am, and latest finish time up to 8pm.
