ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Looking for an Engineering Job with a difference? We are recruiting a qualified mechanical engineer to work for our Operations Department. This role involves being responsible for the Maintenance and Repairs of all our attractions ranging from the Longleat Railway to the Rockin Rhino Ride.

Safety is our highest priority and you will be essential in ensuring that all our attractions are safe at all times through routine maintenance and repairs. You will support the Operations Management Team by carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.

The role also includes operational duties on the Railway which involve day to day driving and signalling on the railway, as well as being able to act as Team Leader as required.

ABOUT YOU

 

You will have obtained a City and Guilds or NVQ equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification within an engineering trade. Possession of a full UK driving licence is also essential for this role. will be capable of running the Railway workshop when required ensuring all paperwork is up to date at all times and all checks are completed and recorded correctly. Weekly Maintenance and Safety Inspections will take place which will allow you to support the Assistant Operations Manager. will also be a role model for the rest of the Operations Team and be able to step into the team leader role at the Railway assuming responsibility for the operation of the railway in absence of the supervisor. This role is subject to a safety critical medical examination, with review. An acceptable level must be achieved.

 

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

This role is available on a permanent basis, working 40 hours per week over 5 days including weekends and bank holidays.
