Despite our established reputation, we constantly strive to educate, excite and inspire guests – from hosting the UK’s largest ever hot air balloon gathering, to celebrating our Festival of Light; the first and biggest event of its kind in the UK, with a total of 3,000 spectacular Chinese lanterns transforming the night-time sky.

What will this role of Park Ranger entail?

As a Park Ranger you’ll take great pride in ensuring the park, buildings and open spaces throughout Longleat are kept in excellent condition and are always well presented. You’ll be responsible for undertaking the removal of waste and for ensuring mechanical sweeping, litter-picking and cleansing is undertaken daily. Your role will also include providing transport support for loading and unloading vehicles and deliveries, in addition to assisting with the parking of guest vehicles and traffic management as required.

Whilst your focus will be on the cleanliness of the park, customer interaction will naturally play a part in your day to day duties, as you will show courtesy and attention to all guests providing assistance where needed.

What will I need to be considered for this Park Ranger vacancy?
  • Proven experience within a caretaker / cleanser / ranger type role
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Great customer service skills with the ability to positively interact with members of the public
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines with little or no supervision
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive and enthusiastic outlook
  • Honest, reliable and flexible to work extra hours / weekends as required

Contract Type: Seasonal (fixed term contract), with winter season due to start early to mid-October 2018 until the 6th of January 2019

Hours of Work: Working hours to vary on a 7-day rota basis – earliest rota’d start time from 9am, and latest finish time up to 8pm.

Up to full time hours are available between the 20th of October and the 4th of November. Throughout the remainder of November 3 days per week are available as per site opening Friday / Saturday / Sunday. Longleat will be open 7 days a week in December, at which point full time hours will be available again.

Please note, due to the nature of the business evenings and weekend work will be required, including bank holidays.
