What will this role of Payroll and HR Systems Manager entail?

Reporting to the HR Director, as the Payroll and HR Systems Manager you’ll deliver a comprehensive payroll and pension’s service to Longleat’s companies and trusts, ensuring timely payments, legal compliance and excellent customer service for an average of 600 employees, rising to 800 employees at peak times.

With the support of the Payroll Officer whom you’ll line manage, you’ll play a pivotal role in the continuing implementation of all functionality, taking the system forward and establishing new ways of working. Your duties will also include but not be limited to:
  • Managing all aspects of all in-house payrolls
  • Managing pension arrangements for the two schemes operated by Longleat
  • Overseeing the daily operation of our HR information systems, processing employee data like leavers, wages and working hours
  • Completing year end payroll reconciliations and returns to HMRC, generating and distributing P45s and P60s
  • Taking responsibility for Pension and Life Assurance submissions, ensuring payroll processes and reports facilitating auto-enrolment are correct
  • Assisting Management Accounts with payroll reconciliations and information required to pay PAYE, NI, and Attachment of Earnings etc
What will I need to be considered for this Payroll and HR Systems Manager vacancy?
  • Proven payroll administration experience, with demonstrable experience of developing and enforcing payroll policies and procedures for a variety of employment contracts
  • Working knowledge of pension schemes and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to present information in forms, tables and spreadsheets
  • Excellent attention to detail and great analytical and problem-solving skills

Contract: Permanent, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm.
